Payne Photographs One of the Coldest Places in The Universe
Chris recently visited the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center to photograph quantum computing research facilities, on assignment, for Bloomberg Markets. "When it's running, this dilution refrigerator at IBM’s Thomas J. Watson Research Center is one of the coldest places in the universe. To cool superconducting bits on a quantum computer processor, it gets down to 15 millikelvin (-459F)—colder than outer space." Read the article, here.
