After moving to New York from the former-Yugoslavia in 1992, Albert Vecerka studied architecture and photography at City College. Though he received a degree in architecture, he chose to pursue photography, working first as an assistant and then on his own. Albert has been collaborating with Esto since 2002, concentrating on assignments and self-generated projects.

Albert uses his strong understanding of architecture and photography to portray objects and space, painting with light, and capturing time in still imagery, time-lapse, and video. His award-winning, dynamic, images capture a wide range of projects, including residential, commercial, civic as well as artwork and exhibitions. Albert’s images have been widely published in print and digital media.

Vecerka has taught photography, drafting, and woodworking at Parsons School of Design and architectural photography at the Continuing Education Department at Cooper Union. Since 2004 he has been teaching architectural photography at the Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture at the City College of New York.
